Charlie turned 15 months... 9 days ago. Oh well. Better late than never, right? I decided that for this post I will make lists about the things Charlie does that I think are so smart/cute/funny.
Words Charlie Says
Charlie is a pro at saying words. He picks up a new word every few days, and he says words so well. Sure he still sounds like a baby when he says them, but most people can understand the word that he's saying which is really good for a one year old.
- Go (This was his first word. He loves to go!)
-Wow (Maybe wow was his first word? He uses his whole face to say it. Its so stinking cute.)
-Mom (He says Momom, but is starting to say mommy.)
-Dad (Dadad, but starting to say daddy.)
-Uh Oh (This was one of his first too. He is so good at saying uh oh when things fall on the floor, or when Backyardigans ends.)
-All Gone (Sounds like Agome. He says it when his food is gone, or when he realizes that we aren't going to give him what he wants.)
-Done (He says it when he's done in the bathtub or swimming pool.)
-No (He just stared saying it and its so funny. He will wag his finger at us and say "ne ne ne ne ne.")
-What's that (Sounds like wasat. He points to things and says "wasat" Its really funny.)
-Baby (He said this one for the first time yesterday. He is so so good at repeating words that we say.)
Doesn't that seem like a lot of words? I guess I don't hang out with any other one year olds all day every day, so I'm not really sure what's normal.
Things Charlie Does
-Put garbage in the garbage can!
-Put everything else in the garbage can...
-Take garbage out of the garbage can :(
-Open doors (Just the ones that he can push open. He can't turn the doorknob and pull yet.)
-Get his own drink and snack off the table, and then (sometimes) put it back on the table when he's done.
-He can walk in any of his shoes now. (We're seriously considering putting him on a leash soon.)
-Climb on the couch. (He only does it when one of us is sitting on the couch, I'm not sure he can do it when no one is on the couch pushing the cushions down a little.)
-Turn on the radio on my alarm clock. (There is a whole row of buttons, and he can push the correct button first try every time. He's so smart.)
-Play peek-a-boo. He will cover his face with his hands or hide behind a chair and pop out and scare us.
Things He Knows
-When we say "jump" he always stars jumping.
-He knows where his tummy, ears, and toes are. He sometimes know where his nose is.
-He knows where other peoples tummy, ears, and toes are.
-He knows that when we put shoes on we're going to go, so he often brings me my shoes and says "Go go go!"
-When he brings me my shoes he always brings a matching pair, and our shoes are in a messy pile, not organised at all.
-He knows that keys open doors. He will grab some keys and hold them up to the doorknob trying to open the door.
-He knows how to drink out of a normal cup, but prefers to dump water all over himself.
-He knows that he need to take his diaper off in order to get in the bathtub. Lucky for us he does not know how to take his diaper off yet.
-He knows when he need a diaper change. He will come up to us and pat his diaper and then walk into his room, where we always change him.
That's all I can think of for now. He does way more funny and smart things, but these are the ones I see most often.
